Have you ever seen or heard of traditional Chinese puppetry in Singapore? For this event, you will have close contact with not one, but two types—Hainanese rod puppetry and Hokkien glove puppetry. For the Hainanese type, you will enjoy a live performance by San Chun Long, the oldest Hainanese puppet troupe in Singapore, followed by interaction with the puppeteers on how to manipulate the rod puppets. For the Hokkien type, you will enjoy a live introduction by Dr Caroline Chia, a specialist in traditional Chinese puppetry, where she will share more touching stories with you on these century-old artefacts.
